Thank you for joining the movement

Your order just moved us one step to closer to making natural fiber activewear the norm

Here's How To Make Your New Gear Last

  • Wash cold on 30 °C gentle cycle to keep natural fibers strong.
  • Hang dry for the longest lifespan.
  • Tumble dry on low inside out if needed.
  • Lay flat to dry for pieces including wool.
  • Iron inside-out on low temperature, light steam only.
  • Don't use bleach or fabric softener, they are toxic and damage natural fibers.

What you're avoiding by wearing VELM

Microplastics

Synthetic clothes shed microplastics you can breathe in and absorb through your skin.

These tiny plastics have been found in human organs, and emerging research links plastic exposure in the body with higher risks of heart attacks, worsened fertility and even certain cancers.

PFAS - Forever Chemicals

Many synthetic finishes use PFAS that can transfer to the skin and the body, especially with heat and sweat.

We avoid chemical finishes like the plague. Our fabrics meet GOTS and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 limits for safe skin contact.

Toxic Azo/Disperse Dyes

The dyes often used on polyester are a common cause of skin irritation.

Our fabrics are tested against harmful substances, and are all safe for skin contact.

Smelly Clothes and Microbes

Polyester fiber is a breeding ground for stink-causing bacteria.

Cotton and merino wool are naturally antimicrobial, manage moisture and let odors air out faster.

Plastic In Your Water And Food

Synthetic clothes shed plastic fibers every wear and wash. Those particles go through treatment plants, flow into rivers and oceans, and end up in seafood and bottled water.

By choosing plastic-free fabrics, you’re contributing to cleaner water and food.
